WHERE WE'VE BEEN, WHERE WE'RE GOING

We’ve been developing and producing fine quality specialty foods for 25 years. A lot has changed since our infancy when Betty Jo, along with the help of her children Anna and Josh Steel, started making Classic Fudge sauce in the family kitchen. However, one thing has remained the same... the Steel’s family commitment to providing our customers with the products they need to meet just about every healthy lifestyle.

Over the past 25 years, Steel’s has gained a national reputation as a specialist in the Gourmet and Sugar Free categories. But, as many of you long-time customers know, it has not always been easy (see our Timeline for more on the story.). We have learned much from our journey so far and couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead!

Because of our health conscious customer following, Betty Jo Steel, Founder, did not give up when the low-carb lifestyle crashed and burned; she was too dedicated and too determined to quit. After thoughtful consideration, we closed our plant in Bridgeport, PA and moved the offices home, hoping one day to sell the business and continue the legacy. After an agonizing process, one that taught us great reslileancy, we have done just that.

Our new affiliation with the good people at Lancaster Fine Foods has allowed us to move full steam ahead with the re-launch of many Steel's healthy sugar free products…products that you've come to expect for 25 years! We have always made products using only the best and most natural ingredients. Now we are sweetening even better… using Organic Agave Nectar!

We have always had a dedicated and energetic management and production team working every day to keep us at the forefront of the specialty-food industry. Now, thanks to our new partnership, that is made even stronger!

We’ve made new and improved product, exhibited at national trade shows and worked hard to reorganize the business. At long last, we’ve even spruced up the website and catalog. Distribution of the product is happening too, and we hope to have the products available soon in all your favorite stores. Please tell us stores near you that should be carrying the line!
